His entrepreneurial journey began in 2010, when he sought a natural remedy for his own digestive issues. That pursuit led to the creation of Step and Go, a simple yet effective toilet stool designed to promote better posture and healthier elimination. After 12 successful years and over one million satisfied customers, Bud sold the company in 2022.

A lifelong Californian, Bud has seen firsthand the devastation wildfires have caused to homes and communities. The turning point came when his close friend, Phil Ursino, lost his home in the Palisades Fire. Determined to find a solution, Bud began researching fire defense strategies and discovered that Phil’s neighbor had successfully saved his own home using pool water, a pump, and a fire hose.

Inspired by this, Bud made it his mission to help homeowners take fire protection into their own hands. Today, he leads the charge with the Firefighter Pool Pump—an accessible, powerful tool designed to give pool owners a fighting chance when wildfire threatens.
